Can we become so focused on expressions of truth that we miss out on the truth itself?
Month: July 2025
Watch Out!
Even places that seem safe can harbor falsehoods, so we must be careful what we accept as truth
Paul’s “Why”
Suffering without purpose leads to despair, but some purposes are worth some short-term pain.
Soldier, Athlete, Farmer
The truth about Jesus Christ isn't something to just skim or skip over. That truth is worth some time of ours to really think about it.
Example 3: The Farmer
A life with Jesus should include good work, even though our own works don't save us; however, there's even more waiting for those who obey His commands
Example 2: The Athlete
Do you want to be just a member of the family of God, or do you want to be an obedient and successful member of the family of God?
Example 1: The Soldier
One doesn't have to be in the military to understand the importance of focus and respect
Not a Conventional Slogan
Slogans usually don't include the downsides of signing up, but even suffering can be worth the cost under the right circumstances
Help to Live Out the Truth
So, if we want to live out the truth, how do we do that? Paul had some good suggestions in a letter to Timothy.
No Question in His Mind
Paul knew that it was better to suffer and succeed for God, than to prosper for the wrong purpose
My Way or the Narrow Way
God has a plan, a purpose, and a promise for you. Keep an eye out for it!
Self-Lighting Candle?
Trying to make something work in a way other than it was designed is often fruitless
A Challenge and a Choice
Standing up for the truth isn't always easy, but it allows us to be part of something much greater than ourselves
